Do you know Sue’s story? Let’s start with grapes — specifically, a love for the white Rhône varieties she wasn’t seeing much of in Lodi.
After falling for the white wines of France’s Rhône Valley, she had a very Sue thought: why shouldn’t we grow those grapes here?
So, in 2008, Grenache Blanc went into the ground at Acquiesce, followed by Picpoul Blanc, Roussanne, Viognier, Clairette Blanche and Bourboulenc. Different grapes, different personalities — from bright and crisp to floral, textured and beautifully aromatic.
What started with curiosity became the main story for Acquiesce and a chance to show just how much more Lodi grapes can do.
Turns out, sometimes it pays to plant something a little unexpected.
