In our experience, many of the challenges that show up during production can be traced back to decisions made much earlier in the process.
Component selection, specifications, tolerances, and finishes all have a direct impact on cost and performance. If those decisions are not aligned from the start, it becomes difficult to correct them later without disruption.
This is why we believe VMI begins before implementation.
Our approach has always been to fully understand the component and its application before moving forward. That includes reviewing specifications, understanding how the part functions within the assembly, and sourcing through qualified suppliers who can consistently meet those requirements.
We do not quote parts we do not understand.
Taking the time to do this work upfront allows us to support a more stable program over the long term. It also reduces the risk of issues during production, where the impact is far more disruptive and costly.
Without that level of understanding, you are often managing issues rather than preventing them.
