🚨 A True Act of Bravery 🚨
We are incredibly proud to announce that Karl Mounts, a valued member of the AES Building Services team, has received the 2025 Ohio Fire Service Hall of Fame Citizen’s Award for an extraordinary act of courage.

Karl, along with fellow honoree Bill Hershberger of Marshallville, was recognized for his heroic actions on I-77 in Bath Township in July 2024. When a dump truck overturned and caught fire, Karl and Bill—without any protective gear—rushed to the scene. They dug through gravel and fought against a heavy tarp covering the truck’s load to reach the trapped driver and pull him to safety, just moments before emergency responders arrived.

This recognition, presented by the Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire Marshal and the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Division of EMS, celebrates individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty to protect others.

Karl’s selflessness and bravery are a reflection of the character we’re honored to have on our team. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-deserved recognition!

There is nothing quite like bringing joy to others. We were happy to be a part of the event at Joy Park Community Center in Akron this past weekend, where children could select from gifts, some of which were part of our gift collection supported by staff and friends of AES Building Services.

AES Building Services invites you to join us in sharing the spirit of the holidays by donating a gift for those in need. The collected donations will be distributed at select community centers throughout the City of Akron. We are accepting toys, games, and sporting/athletic items in original packaging and in new condition for ages six months to 15 years old. Donations can be dropped off at our offices and will be accepted until noon on December 15. For details, contact Annie at 330-838-3195.
