Today we taught 21 teenagers how to sew! We start on paper and then everyone made their own tissue holder pouch. 🥳🙏🏽👌🏽

Taught a group of 20 teenagers all about gardening today! We covered 5 different types of herbs and business ideas for selling homegrown produce. They each transplanted their own basil plug into a small pot to take home. They left with all the information and confidence needed to grow their own basil! 🌿🙏🏽🥳🙌🏽

Thanks to our partnership with the Children's Trust of Alachua County we are able to provide these kinds of workshops for local youth at no cost to their families. 🙏🏽

Get ready for an exciting evening of high school volleyball as eight outstanding local teams go head-to-head in preseason competition!

More gardening workshops today to teach our youth about growing and caring for their own edible plants! They learned about several different herbs, cardinal directions and understanding where the sun is at different times of the day (important for gardening!) and some business strategies for selling homegrown goods. They each went home with a transplanted basil start to grow this summer. 🌱🙌🏽😍

We are able to offer these kinds of workshops in our community thanks to funding from the Children's Trust of Alachua County. 🙏🏽💕

Today we taught senior citizens all about growing basil! 🌿🙌🏽

This is my 3rd year teaching a basil transplanting workshop around this time of year. It’s always a hit with the seniors! 🪴

I showed them how to pinch the plants to promote bushier growth and what it will look like if they take care of it! 🤪😅 It’s like having my own little teaching garden at Legacy Park in Alachua! 🥳🙌🏽
