Aidan Sakata came home from college for a weekend and found his younger brother sitting in front of the TV, waiting for one character: Nick Wilde, the fox from Zootopia. Every time the camera cut to Nick, Kieran went quiet and listened. When it cut to anyone else, he said their lines for them.

Kieran has autism, and he's a gestalt learner. He doesn't process language word by word. He memorizes entire scripts.

Aidan didn't scroll past it. Two years later, Akio AI (named for his brother, Kieran Akio Sakata) is a conversational agent that helps neurodiverse kids find more speech and use it in real conversations.

Everyone wants AI to be a force multiplier. It is, and that's the catch. It multiplies your best thinking, and it multiplies your vague instructions and bad data right alongside it.
