I recently participated in an interesting study by Prosperity Now about paid leave policies and how they impact small businesses, especially those of us just starting out.
As someone running a small business myself, I've got mixed feelings about mandatory paid leave. On one hand, I totally get the importance of supporting employees when they need time off for family or medical reasons. On the other hand, for newer businesses with tight budgets, it can be a real challenge to figure out how to make it work financially.
I'm curious to know what you think about this issue. Did you even know this was up for State review? How do you see paid leave impacting your business or the businesses you work with? Do you have any ideas on how we can balance supporting employees with the financial realities of running a small business?
