If you think your vote doesn’t matter, consider that presidents, senators, governors, and state legislators have been elected by margins smaller than the number of people who stay home in a single county or precinct. The people who vote pick the officials who set tax rates, regulations, school policy, infrastructure priorities, and more. Staying home does not cancel other votes—it simply lets the people who do show up decide for everyone. Local and state races are often closer and more directly affect daily life than the national headline contests. Register, check your ballot, and participate if the outcomes matter to you or your community.
