For the past few nights, we have been staying in Mina during Hajj, surrounded by endless rows of white tents filled with millions of pilgrims from all over the world.
Inside each tent, people sleep side by side on tiny foldable beds barely larger than a childโs mattress, with almost no room to move.
If you want to pray, you first have to fold your bed back into a chair just to create enough space to stand.
The bathrooms are crowded, the lines are long, the heat is intense, and privacy becomes a luxury you quickly learn to live without.
Yet somehow, in the middle of all this discomfort, there is beauty.
This experience has humbled me in ways I cannot fully describe.
It made me think deeply about the millions of people around the world who live in cramped spaces every single day, not for a few nights as part of a spiritual journey, but as their reality.
Some families raise children in tents, shacks, refugee camps, or overcrowded homes with limited access to comfort, water, or even basic necessities.
Hajj strips away status, titles, and comfort zones. It reminds you how blessed you truly are and how often we take simple things for granted, like a quiet room, a comfortable bed, air conditioning, or easy access to a bathroom.
The physical demands alone push you beyond your limits.
Two days ago, we walked for nearly five hours under the scorching sun to and from Jamarat for the stoning ritual.
Yesterday, we did it again for hours. The crowds were overwhelming, the exhaustion was real, and at some moments I honestly felt like my body could not go any further.
In normal life, I would have stepped away to rest or cool off.
But Hajj teaches you something powerful: sometimes you are stronger than you think. It teaches patience, endurance, surrender, and resilience. You keep going, not because it is easy, but because your purpose is greater than your discomfort.
This journey has shown me that growth often happens beyond the breaking point.
There is a place where the body feels tired, the mind feels overwhelmed, and the soul wants relief, yet if you continue pushing with faith, there is light on the other side.
Hajj is not just a physical journey. It is a spiritual transformation. It humbles you, stretches you, softens your heart, and changes your perspective on life forever.
