The year is 2002 and our founder Robert Collins is searching for technology service providers to support physicians in the local community. At the time, Robert was the Chief Information Officer of a hospital and did not have the resources to provide technology support for both the hospital and the physicians. His solution was to find local resources to augment his internal technology team. There w
ere a lot of companies who provided network, server, personal computer, and telecom "break / fix" support. But, none of the companies had the capability or interest to provide support to the physician and their staff on the best way to leverage the technology to improve patient communication, patient safety, efficiency, or cash flow. The support companies were simply "wrench-turners", fixing problems when they occurred. NEOS was born in July 2003, created to provide day-to-day support of every facet of technology *and* to help clients transform from just using technology to leveraging technology to achieve their goals. Robert created a team of technical and professional resources focused on moving clients to total tech maximization. This was made possible by having team members with specific knowledge and experience in business, healthcare, and government in addition to technicians and engineers. NEOS' initial focus was healthcare and small to mid-sized business. The local government center of excellence was added in 2007.
