Over the years, I’ve noticed a quiet pattern among experienced professionals.
At some point — often mid-career — people begin wondering whether they should pursue a doctorate. Not necessarily because they want to become faculty, but because they are thinking about leadership, credibility, advancement, or a new direction.
What makes the decision difficult is that most information about doctoral programs comes from program marketing, admissions staff, or people who have earned doctorates. Very little of it explains what the day-to-day reality actually requires, or how to tell whether a doctorate fits your goals, schedule, and responsibilities.
After working with doctoral students at many stages, I’ve also seen the other side: people who enrolled with incomplete information and only discovered the true expectations once they were already deeply committed.
So I’m offering a limited number of Doctoral Entry Decision Sessions.
This is a one-time, structured consultation to help you think through whether pursuing a doctorate makes sense for you now, what type of program would fit best, and what you should realistically expect before you apply.
It isn’t admissions advising and it isn’t coaching.
It’s a decision conversation — before you invest years of time and a significant amount of money.
If you have been considering a doctoral program and aren’t sure how to evaluate the decision, you’re welcome to send a message to this page to learn more about how the session works.
