Twenty-five years later, the impact of September 11 continues to be felt.

Today we remember those who were killed in the attacks, the responders and recovery workers who have passed in the years since as a result of their service at the World Trade Center, and the families forever affected by that day.

We honor their courage, sacrifice, and memory.

Never Forget.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our friend, colleague, instructor, and fellow firefighter, Doug Holl.

Doug was a career firefighter and Lieutenant with the City of Glens Falls Fire Department, but to us at Capital Technical Rescue, he was much more than a title.

Doug was one of the people who helped build CTR during its early years. He believed deeply in training, and sharing knowledge with others. Whether he was instructing a class, helping develop programs, or simply lending a hand wherever it was needed, Doug's influence can be found throughout our organization and in the countless firefighters, rescuers, and emergency responders he helped train over the years.

Those who had the opportunity to work alongside Doug knew him as a dedicated professional, a talented instructor, and an individual who genuinely cared about the success and safety of others. He led by example and was always willing to share his experience and expertise for the benefit of the next generation.

More importantly, Doug was our friend.

The loss of Doug is felt deeply throughout the fire service and technical rescue communities. His contributions to the profession, his students, and his fellow firefighters will continue to have an impact for many years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Doug's family, friends, coworkers at the Glens Falls Fire Department, and everyone whose life was touched by his friendship, mentorship, and service.

Thank you, Doug, for everything you gave to this profession, to this organization, and to those of us fortunate enough to have known you.

Rest easy, brother. We have it from here.
