We are close to putting our new engine into service. Alot of training has been conducted and drivers have been at the wheel. Waiting on some hose to arrive and get loaded.

We have cleared trees in the district. Clodfelter Rd. is cleared to 1 lane with multiple low hanging lines. Residents of CLODFELTER RD. Should use caution on your road.
There is another line of storms West of Charlotte that will hopefully lessen in strength. City Utilities have completed a damage assessment and are aware of the significant issues with the lines. There was widespread damage in Albemarle.

East Side Engine 651 and Drone 65 assisted Badin Volunteer Fire Department with an outside fire threatening a structure on Thompson Farm Rd this afternoon. It is still very dry. Hopefully some rain soon.

Continuing to work with the new engine for tonight's training. What hose lay will work best for our district and the department.

East Side has been awarded an OSFM matching funds grant. Our department will match this dollar for dollar to assist with equipping the recently acquired Fire Engine with SCBA, hose, and other items. This grant will allow us to keep a reserve engine fully equipped.
