UTV 65 assisted with Stanly Co. Relay for Life 2026 yesterday. There was entertainment, a Team walk, Survivor walk, Caregiver walk, Kids walk, and finally the most important time, the lighting of the Luminaries and empty table. If you have never been, you should and join the fight. This is a literal fight for life. Cancer has touched all of us is some way, whether individually, a family member, friend, or co-worker. To those that meet months in advance and pour everything you have into this event, THANK YOU! To those that formed a team and showed up to show out, THANK YOU! To those that were able to come out and be a part of something bigger than all of us THANK YOU. We do make a difference. This fight goes on, but you never fight alone! W. A Efird

We have placed into service, and it is responding to incidents, our newest addition. A 2026 Custom Fouts Brothers Engine, with 1000 gallons of water and a 1500 GPM pump. The identifier is currently Engine 652 (subject to change). A few grant items will be added when they come in, but it is fully in-service with those items transferred from the older 1988 E1. (Former Engine 652)
The older Engine 652 will possibly be sold at either/or sealed bid or online national used apparatus site.

NEVER FORGET!

Did you know? A child as young as 3 can pull the trigger of a gun, which poses a serious risk for parents who own fi****ms.
With hunting season in NC quickly approaching, it's important to know that if fi****ms are in your home, they need to be locked, unloaded, and stored away from am******on and out of reach of young kids.

One conversation with your child could save a life. Looking for resources on how to start? Visit our article about Children's Gun Safety in the comments below!

What Kids Need to Know:
✔️ Never touch a fi***rm
✔️ Tell an adult immediately if you find one

For Parents: Have this talk. Now. Before hunting season starts.

For Educators: A five-minute classroom conversation about fi***rm safety reinforces what parents teach at home. Your students live in homes with guns. Age-appropriate education matters.

Responsible gun ownership saves lives. Talk to your children about gun safety.
