Hello, friends! I hope that you're all enjoying this beautiful fall day! I just love this cooler weather, and fall means football. I'm excited to be watching my Clemson Tigers playing this afternoon!

Today is exciting for another reason -- the annual "Blessing of the Animals." It is customary for Catholic and Anglican churches to hold ceremonies blessing animals on October 4th, the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. If any of you have ever participated in this service, I would love to hear your story!

Hello, friends! I know that you’ve missed me these past few months, but I had to spend some time with my human family. We’ve had a wedding, a funeral, and a major surgery to deal with, but things are finally getting back to normal.

In honor of National Punctuation Day, the first person to correct the error(s) in the following sentence will win a special prize from yours truly!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all of my Irish friends! Some St. Patrick's Day trivia for you:

~ St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, was actually born in Great Britain (known as Roman Britain at the time).

~ According to legend, St. Patrick pounded drums to make all the snakes disappear from Ireland. (Anybody else think we need to break out the drums and send them back?)

~ The very first St. Patrick's Day parade was not in Ireland -- it took place in Boston in 1737.

~ The largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the United States, held since 1762, is in New York City, and draws more than one million spectators each year.

~ The first St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin did not occur until 1931.

~ The City of Chicago dyes its river green to celebrate, and has been doing so since 1962.

~ West Boylston, Mass., held what was billed as the world's shortest St. Patrick's Day parade on March 16, 2014. It took place between two local Irish pubs, Finders Pub and Keepers Pub, which are 75 feet apart!

Hellooo, friends of Albemarle Printers! Please allow me to introduce myself! My name is Mike (cuz my dad wanted me to have a manly name!), and I was rescued from the animal shelter. I'm half black Lab and half Italian Greyhound, and I love soft, fuzzy things! What I don't like is being by myself all day, so I got a part-time job at Albemarle Printers. I'll be posting here occasionally, to give you a little insight into how great it is to be me! By the way, next Tuesday (January 14th) is Dress Up Your Pet Day, so stop by Albemarle Printers and see what stylish fashion I'll be sporting that day! I'd better get back to work -- see you soon!
