Good Steward Consulting

Good Steward Consulting The Good Steward Consulting Team is comprised of educated, experienced, Midwesterners who implement All while being the best energy option for America.

Good Steward Consulting is dedicated to the successful future of small-town America and agriculture, as the backbone which supports feeding our world. We are passionate about renewable energy and other rural developments for environmental and economic reasons. Our founder spent the past nine years as a farm wife and mother living on the edge of a 120+ turbine wind farm. Although not a participatin

g landowner in the project, she welcomed the development and the opportunities afforded to her township and neighbors. Wind turbines and solar panels are lifelines helping to secure the future of multi-generational farming operations and allowing for further income diversification during times of commodity price volatility.

One of the best parts of being headquartered in Albert Lea is the free lunchtime rides to the Freeborn County Fair during fair week. Who can pass up fair food on their lunch break during the six best days of summer?! Not us, obviously.

Farmers and landowners across the U.S. are facing tough choices and financial roadblocks. These stories are echoed by our neighbors and friends in the rural communities we call home.

And that's exactly why Good Steward Consulting exists: to bridge the communication gap and help facilitate partnerships that allow multigenerational farm families to not just survive, but to thrive.

In rural America, renewable energy is more than an abstract climate issue; it's an opportunity to diversify operations and pass prosperity along to the next generation.

Renewable energy projects spark a polarizing divide in rural America between financial stability and concerns over farmland preservation.

Join us in celebrating Jaclyn Sifert's promotion to Director of Sales and Marketing!

Since joining GSC in November 2022, Jaclyn has managed communications for over 8 GW of wind, solar, and battery storage projects across the U.S. Growing up on a small family farm in rural Iowa and later living in Chicago, she has a unique perspective on both rural and urban lifestyles, which helps her build strong relationships with clients and communities.

We look forward to seeing her thrive in this new role!✨

Hannah, one of our Wisconsinite Good Stewards, had a surprise visit from GSC's President and CEO, Mariah Lynne, as she traveled through the land of cheese and beer. Whether it's impromptu appetizers or a handwritten note, our leadership team prioritizes staying connected to employees no matter where we are working from!

As GSC has grown, it has meant balancing a team that now represents more remote, work-from-home employees than those who work from our headquarters location.

Building a hybrid team requires addressing both operational and cultural issues to keep collaboration, productivity, and morale high. In recent years, businesses have seen how hybrid setups can dilute the shared culture that develops inside a shared office environment. Remote employees may feel overlooked or undervalued.

The culture at GSC has only become more vibrant as we've grown. By making sure we have the right tools for communication, being intentional about building relationships among staff as we do in our client project areas, and prioritizing team bonding, Good Stewards across the U.S. stay connected to both our mission and each other.

At GSC Headquarters, we've seen firsthand how wind projects benefit our communities and allow landowners to bolster their farm operations with another source of income.

Solar power is another option that provides an opportunity for financial diversification to small family farms. By leasing, often times just a portion of their land for solar, families can keep their land for generations to come - while also receiving a dependable lease payment.

Solar power is a lifeline to small family farms. By leasing an ofte...

During the most recent legislative session here in our headquarters home state of Minnesota, Communications Associates Izzy and Mallory attended the tenth annual 🌱⚡Clean Energy Business Day at the state capitol.

⤵️ Check out our most recent GSC Blog post where they recap their experience in St Paul hearing from 🤝 industry partners working on legislative policy at the state level. ⚖️✍

The State of Minnesota has a goal to become 100% carbon-free electricity by 2040. It’s a milestone that will shape the future of clean energy across the state and one that will be felt most strongly in rural communities, where utility-scale renewable projects are built and maintained. As members o...

Here in the Midwest, we understand farming and want to preserve our prime farmland. In our home state of Minnesota, over 47% of our total land is USDA Prime Farmland! Of that, only 0.03% is currently being used for solar to harvest the sun.🌞 That's less than the amount of land used by golf courses, abandoned prime farmland, and lost to suburban sprawl!

🌱 America depends on land to grow food, build communities, and power our lives. Responsible land use means balancing all of those needs.⚖️ Solar land leases allow farmers to maintain ownership of their land while diversifying their ag portfolio with a flexible land use option and allowing the land under the panels to rest. That's a win for our farmers and the rural communities we call home!

Find out more about how solar projects fit into agricultural land use in states across the U.S. with this new interactive map from SEIA.
