I recently admitted out loud that I don’t enjoy party games.
Small thing.
But it felt bigger in the moment.
Because sometimes we think we’re supposed to be a certain way.
But the truth is, people remember how you make them feel
not whether you played along perfectly.
You don’t have to force yourself into spaces that don’t fit.
You can just… be you.

This… This picture was a wedding this evening… not just any wedding, but the wedding of a cousin of mine through marriage. What you don’t see in this picture is that we never share the back story of how we are related, just that we are indeed family.

When I married my husband, I was blessed with large family unit. A group of people who are much like my North Star. These are people who despite the loss of my husband still see me just as another member of the family.

That… What have they taught me? Family is the connection, bond, love you share for people. Family are the people you can always go home to.
