This week, we're excited to recognize Paula Tafoya as our Caregiver Spotlight!

Paula joined the Simplicity Home Care family on June 22, 2026, and has quickly become an incredible part of our team, providing compassionate care to veterans and clients throughout the Pueblo, Colorado area.

From the very beginning, Paula has demonstrated a servant's heart by going above and beyond to ensure clients in her area receive the care they need. Both Dawn and Jennifer have shared how impressed they are with Paula's work ethic, compassion, and willingness to help others.

Paula became a caregiver because she genuinely loves people and finds joy in helping others. That passion is evident in every interaction she has with the veterans and families she serves.

Serving veterans is especially meaningful to Paula because of her personal connection to the military. With her father having served our country, she understands the sacrifices made by veterans and their families and considers it a privilege to care for those who have given so much.

When she's not caring for clients, Paula enjoys spending time outdoors and getting lost in a good book. Her warm personality, positive attitude, and caring spirit make her a wonderful addition to our team.

💜 Caregiver Spotlight: Teresa Valles 💜

This week, we're proud to recognize Teresa Valles as our Caregiver Spotlight!

Teresa has been a valued member of the Simplicity Home Care family since August 2025, providing compassionate care to our veterans and clients throughout the El Paso, Texas area.

Caring for others has always been Teresa's passion. She has experience working with both children and older adults, and becoming a caregiver allowed her to continue doing what she loves most—helping people live happier, healthier lives.

For Teresa, serving veterans is incredibly meaningful. She enjoys encouraging her clients, helping them maintain a sense of purpose, and supporting them in living life to the fullest. She believes caregiving is about more than meeting physical needs—it's about helping people move forward with confidence, dignity, and hope.

Before becoming a caregiver, Teresa spent more than 30 years as a cosmetologist, dedicating her career to helping people look and feel their best. After an accident made it impossible to continue in that profession, she found a new calling in caregiving. While the work can be challenging, she finds it deeply rewarding and is grateful for the opportunity to continue making a positive difference in the lives of others.

Outside of work, Teresa still enjoys doing hair as a hobby and practices Tai Chi to maintain her health and well-being. She even enjoys sharing what she's learned with her clients, helping them stay active and improve their overall quality of life.

Teresa's caring heart, positive attitude, and lifelong commitment to serving others make her an incredible part of the Simplicity Home Care team. We are thankful for the compassion she brings to every visit and for the meaningful impact she has on the veterans and families she serves.

💜 Caregiver Spotlight: Amanda Stoll 💜

This week, we are excited to recognize Amanda Stoll as our Caregiver Spotlight!

Amanda has been a valued member of the Simplicity Home Care family since May 2024, providing compassionate, dependable care to our veterans and clients throughout New Mexico.

Amanda's journey into caregiving began with caring for her own parents. Through that experience, she discovered that she has a special connection with older adults and a genuine passion for helping them maintain their independence and quality of life. What started as caring for family became a calling to continue serving others.

Serving veterans is especially meaningful to Amanda. With a son who serves as a United States Marine and several other family members who have served in the military, she understands the sacrifices made by our nation's heroes and their families. She considers it a privilege to give back by providing the compassionate care and respect they have earned.

Outside of work, Amanda is a proud single mother of six children. She has a creative spirit and enjoys art, music, photography, and reading. In fact, she's an avid book lover with a personal library of more than 1,000 books! Originally from Minnesota, Amanda moved to New Mexico a few years ago for a fresh start and has grown to love everything the Land of Enchantment has to offer.

Amanda's compassion, dedication, and servant's heart are reflected in the care she provides every day. We are incredibly grateful to have her as part of the Simplicity Home Care team and thankful for the positive impact she continues to make in the lives of the veterans and families we serve.

This week, we are honored to recognize Maria Herrera as our Caregiver Spotlight!

Maria has been a valued member of the Simplicity Home Care team since January 2025, providing exceptional care to veterans and clients throughout the El Paso, Texas area.

Maria became a caregiver because she truly loves working with people. She believes that the kindness and compassion we show our community have a way of coming back to us, and she treats every client with the same level of care and respect that she would hope to receive herself one day. That philosophy shines through in every visit she makes.

Serving veterans holds a special place in Maria's heart. Having been married to a member of the military, she understands firsthand the sacrifices made by service members and their families. Her personal experience gives her a deep appreciation for the unique challenges veterans face, making it especially meaningful for her to provide them with compassionate, dependable care.

When she's not caring for clients, Maria enjoys watching movies and spending time in the kitchen. Cooking is one of her favorite ways to bring people together, and she loves sharing meals that provide comfort, joy, and a sense of home.

Originally from Mexico, Maria is bilingual and continues to strengthen her English skills. She believes that sharing her language and culture helps build meaningful relationships founded on trust, friendship, and mutual respect—qualities that make her an exceptional caregiver.

💜 Caregiver Spotlight: Angelica Vargas 💜

This week, we're proud to recognize Angelica Vargas, who has been a valued member of the Simplicity Home Care family since September 30, 2025. Angelica provides exceptional care to our veterans and clients throughout the Albuquerque, New Mexico area.

Angelica chose to become a caregiver because she believes the profession is built on empathy, compassion, and love. With a background in nutrition and healthcare, she finds great fulfillment in helping others every day while continuing to grow personally and professionally.

When asked what it means to serve veterans, Angelica shared that it is an honor to care for those who have sacrificed so much for our country. While she is committed to providing outstanding care to every client, she says serving veterans carries a special sense of admiration and gratitude.

Outside of work, Angelica enjoys watching movies, reading, mountain biking, staying active at the gym, and exploring new places. She's also excited to relearn roller skating! Looking toward the future, Angelica plans to continue improving her English by returning to in-person classes and hopes to become a Medical Assistant in the United States, building on the experience she gained in Mexico.

🎖️ Connecting with Veterans in El Paso County! 🎖️

Simplicity Home Care was proud to participate in the El Paso County Veterans Expo in Colorado Springs! Jennifer and Paige had a fantastic time meeting local veterans, their families, and the many organizations dedicated to supporting those who have served our country.

A special thank you to El Paso County for organizing and hosting this outstanding event. We truly appreciate the effort that goes into bringing together valuable resources and services for our veterans and their families.

Personal Background
Originally from West Africa, I became a U.S. citizen in 1998. I am multilingual, speaking English, French (my first language), basic Russian, and Bambara. I enjoy word search puzzles, exploring international cooking, and spending time with my two dogs, Chico and Lola.

Professional Experience and Motivation
My journey as a caregiver began when my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I cared for him until his passing, after which my children encouraged me to use my caregiving skills professionally. I have since trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I often hum or whistle while I work; in fact, I currently have a client who enjoys dancing to Frank Sinatra while I perform my duties.

Commitment to Veterans
I believe it is a profound honor to provide care and dignity to our nation’s veterans. I am deeply moved by their selflessness and the sacrifices they have made, and I am dedicated to supporting them through high-quality care.

Isabella has been with Simplicity since June 2025 and serves the Lubbock, Texas area. She comes from a large family where helping others is a core value, a trait she brings to her work every day. Outside of work, she enjoys camping and fishing with her family.

When asked about her work with veterans, Isabella shared that caring for them is a blessing and a meaningful way to give back for their service. She is known for her sense of humor and her ability to make friends wherever she goes. Looking ahead, Isabella plans to continue advancing her career in healthcare.
