🎖️ Connecting with Veterans in El Paso County! 🎖️

Simplicity Home Care was proud to participate in the El Paso County Veterans Expo in Colorado Springs! Jennifer and Paige had a fantastic time meeting local veterans, their families, and the many organizations dedicated to supporting those who have served our country.

A special thank you to El Paso County for organizing and hosting this outstanding event. We truly appreciate the effort that goes into bringing together valuable resources and services for our veterans and their families.

This week, we are proud to recognize Lola Yslas as our Caregiver of the Week! Lola joined Simplicity Home Care on December 26, 2025, and provides exceptional care to veterans in the Lubbock, Texas area.

❤️ A Passion for Caregiving
With approximately 25 years of caregiving experience, including both home health and hospice care, Lola has dedicated her life to helping others. She describes caregiving as a natural instinct and has built a career centered around compassion, service, and support.

🇺🇸 Serving Those Who Served
When asked what it means to care for veterans, Lola shared that she enjoys listening to their stories and learning from their experiences. She believes that because veterans have served our country through both good and challenging times, it is a privilege to give back by helping care for them.

🏡 About Lola
Originally from Colorado, Lola moved to Texas two years ago. While she has a large family back in Colorado, her move has allowed her to focus on both her personal and professional growth. When she is not caring for clients, she enjoys spending time helping others and caring for her grandchildren.

🌟 Caregiver of the Week: Olivia Martinez 🌟

This week, we are proud to recognize Olivia Martinez as our Caregiver of the Week! Olivia has been a valued member of our team since June 2022, and we are grateful for the compassion and dedication she brings to the veterans she serves every day.

❤️ Why did you become a caregiver?
"I have been a caregiver for about 14 years because I truly enjoy taking care of people. My experience includes working with a state community program, where I assisted clients directly in their homes."

🇺🇸 What does it mean to you to serve veterans?
"I love working with veterans. It is very important to me to care for them and give back to those who have served."

🏋️ What are your hobbies?
Olivia enjoys early morning workouts and spending time working in her yard.

Personal Background
Originally from West Africa, I became a U.S. citizen in 1998. I am multilingual, speaking English, French (my first language), basic Russian, and Bambara. I enjoy word search puzzles, exploring international cooking, and spending time with my two dogs, Chico and Lola.

Professional Experience and Motivation
My journey as a caregiver began when my husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. I cared for him until his passing, after which my children encouraged me to use my caregiving skills professionally. I have since trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). I often hum or whistle while I work; in fact, I currently have a client who enjoys dancing to Frank Sinatra while I perform my duties.

Commitment to Veterans
I believe it is a profound honor to provide care and dignity to our nation’s veterans. I am deeply moved by their selflessness and the sacrifices they have made, and I am dedicated to supporting them through high-quality care.

Isabella has been with Simplicity since June 2025 and serves the Lubbock, Texas area. She comes from a large family where helping others is a core value, a trait she brings to her work every day. Outside of work, she enjoys camping and fishing with her family.

When asked about her work with veterans, Isabella shared that caring for them is a blessing and a meaningful way to give back for their service. She is known for her sense of humor and her ability to make friends wherever she goes. Looking ahead, Isabella plans to continue advancing her career in healthcare.

To our incredible staff and the veterans we are honored to serve — we are truly thankful for each and every one of you. 💙 Your dedication, courage, and compassion inspire us every day, and we are grateful for the opportunity to support and care for our nation’s heroes together.
