Did you know that last week was the first ever Latina/x Breastfeeding Week? In honor of Latina/x Breastfeeding Week, we’re celebrating one of our amazing Account Executives, Monica Esparza, who currently serves as the Executive Director of the New Mexico Breastfeeding Task Force. Monica was a part of the national group of Latina/x leaders that established the first ever Latina/x Breastfeeding Week, which begins the Tuesday after Labor Day to intentionally connect National Breastfeeding Month (August) with Hispanic Heritage Month (September). Monica’s leadership has been an essential part of this leadership group as she managed the logistics and communication pieces to get this week launched. We’re excited to highlight Monica Esparza and Sylvie Waffelaert as the co-chairs for our Employee Experience Workgroup. The workgroup aims to ensure that Delta continues to be a great place to work and centers Delta’s employees in our workplace culture and decisions. Some of the activities led by this group include planning our annual retreats, finding creative ways to build community in our hybrid workplace, and collecting the employee input and feedback used to inform policies and procedures. We are grateful for the dedication and care that Sylvie and Monica bring to the Employee Experience Workgroup.
