I took Ricky Tim’s Locomotion class in January in spite of the fact that I barely had time to do all of the work orders that started coming in for the new year. It was fun, inspiring, and a great way to explore new techniques that were perfectly in line with my new year resolution to do more artistic quilt designs. I am proud of what I was able to accomplish in this design. I am looking forward to creating many more such quilts based on what I was able to learn in Ricky’s class online.
The other amazing thing is I have already got someone interested in buying it and I haven’t even had time to finish the quilting on it yet!
Thanks Ricky for getting me out of my comfort zone and into something WAY more fun and rewarding creatively!
Look at this bedazzled LocoMotion quilt by Rand Barker! Rand was in my most recent online class and designed this piece by following the guidelines for drawing patchwork — yes, patchwork!. I’ve had many folks ask if these are appliqué and the answer is no. This is 100% pieced using my no-pins precision curved piecing method - without using quarter-inch seams!
