The RECA maps represent more than locations — these maps of the eligible counties represent our neighbors, friends, and families, who have lived with the lasting impact of radiation exposure for far too long.

Based in Albuquerque, NM the Downwinders Alliance team, stands with every downwinder and every family seeking recognition, support, and justice. No one should have to fight alone to have their story acknowledged.

We will continue advocating for fairness, transparency, and expanded support for all those affected.

This week the Downwinders Alliance & Swapp Advocacy Group team had the privilege of volunteering at Roadrunner Food Bank in Albuquerque as part of the JustServe and America Serves initiative honoring the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States.

Serving our community is something we value deeply. The work we do every day is centered around helping individuals and families who have carried the lasting impacts of our nation’s nuclear and defense history, and it is a privilege to stand alongside people whose experiences and resilience inspire the work we do each day.

We were grateful for the opportunity to support an organization that provides essential food assistance to families across New Mexico. Being able to give back to the community in this way is something we truly value.

Thank you to Roadrunner Food Bank, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, JustServe and everyone involved in organizing this event.

Today is World Cancer Day, and we pause to remember, honor, and stand with all those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
For the Downwinders and those affect by exposure, this day carries deep meaning. We remember the loved ones we’ve lost, honor the survivors who carry strength and resilience every day, and recommit ourselves to justice, and care for communities harmed by radiation exposure.
