Staffing employment edged down during the week of May 24–May 31, with the ASA Staffing Index decreasing by a little over half a percentage point while holding at a rounded value of 88. Many staffing companies listed the Memorial Day holiday as a primary factor that hindered growth during that week. Staffing jobs were 5.3% higher than during the same week in 2025, slightly above the 5.1% difference recorded the previous week.

Temporary and contract staffing employment has now seen year-to-year growth in 37 out of the past 38 straight weeks.
