Strengthening cyber defense starts with strong partnerships, practical training, and a shared commitment to preparing for emerging threats.

As part of Culmen’s support to the Cyber Defense Security Assistance (CDSA) program, the U.S. CDSA Cyber Defense Advisor to Bulgaria’s Ministry of Defense recently visited the Bulgarian Naval Academy in Varna.

The visit included a tour of the Academy’s advanced navigation and engineering simulators and discussions with faculty and leadership about its artificial intelligence and cybersecurity programs. These engagements highlighted opportunities to further integrate cyber defense scenarios into virtual training environments, helping cadets build the technical, decision-making, and coordination skills needed for future operational roles.

In eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), decentralized laboratories are at the heart of the Bundibugyo virus disease response, and partnership is what keeps them running.

In the latest piece on the Culmen Outlook Blog, Director of Global Health Security Nohelia Navarrete takes us inside the work: supporting lab operations across seven sites in DRC, to a mobile BSL-2 laboratory deployment in Katana, to training local professionals in 10 health zones.
