About the job:
Operation End Starvation (OES) is a new, independent, U.S.-based 501(c)(3) global platform designed to end child deaths from hunger. Launched with philanthropic seed capital and built in partnership with leading experts in procurement, program management, and global malnutrition, OES is structured to radically transform how lifesaving malnutrition interventionsโspecifically Ready-to-Use Therapeutic Food (RUTF) and prenatal vitamins or Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS)โare financed, scaled, and delivered.
OES functions as a catalytic finance platform by stewarding public and private funding. OES competitively selects international and in-country partners to deliver RUTF and prenatal vitamins along with associated services to children and pregnant women in need in priority countries.
With public and private funding commitments anchoring this new model, OES provides a transparent, competitive, and results-driven mechanism to deploy resources and expertise with speed, accountability, and measurable impact. Private philanthropy covers all overhead so every public dollar goes directly to purchasing and delivering life saving treatment and programming.
OESโs immediate goal is to rapidly scale RUTF and MMS to save lives in crisis settings. Over the long-term we are building a durable, multi-donor platform that advances a new, more cost-efficient, transparent, and accountable global fund for malnutrition.
OES will be fully staffed and operational in 2026 and is expected to become a central mechanism for U.S.-led malnutrition investments worldwide.
Position Summary
The Communications Manager will support the development and implementation of OESโs communications strategy during the organizationโs launch and scale phase. The Communications Manager will help shape how OES communicates its mission, model, and impact to key audiences including government partners, philanthropic donors, media, and the broader global nutrition community.
This is a build-from-zero role. The Communications Manager will help establish the organizationโs core communications systems and platforms, including messaging materials, digital presence, media engagement processes, and public-facing reporting tools. The role will translate complex program, financing, and supply chain activities into clear and accessible communications for external audiences.
The Communications Manager will provide day-to-day communications support to OES leadership, manage external communications channels, and coordinate across teams to ensure consistent messaging across the organization.
The position reports directly to the OES Managing Director and works across the start-up team and permanent Secretariat to communicate OESโs work clearly, credibly, and effectively.
