Today we honor the winter solstice, the longest night of the year- the pause before the light returns.

We are thrilled to introduce Curious Traveler!

As 2025 comes to an end, I find myself reflecting on a period of immense change and transition—both in our workplaces and in society at large.

Here’s what I know about transition: it’s messy. It’s paradoxical. It can be deeply confusing. And more often than not, it’s lonely.

Here’s what I also know.

At every crossroads in my life—every big decision, every moment of uncertainty—travel has helped me create clarity, embody courage, and gain perspective and possibility. It has given my thinking brain a chance to go offline, allowing new ways forward to emerge—paths I couldn’t have imagined otherwise.

From starting my own business to the most important decision I’ve ever made—deciding to adopt, a journey that led me to my son—travel has been my companion. It made the messy feel less lonely and the confusing feel more navigable.

My hope now is to bring that same methodology, clarity, and companionship to others.

To that end, I’m thrilled to announce Curious Traveler, a travel coaching brand within MP6 Consulting. Curious Traveler complements our executive coaching work and reflects what we’re increasingly seeing in our practice: mid- and late-career professionals standing at meaningful crossroads in both career and life.

At Curious Traveler, we explore how travel—literal or metaphorical—can shift perspective and help us find new meaning and new ways forward. Because sometimes transformation doesn’t come from changing jobs or cities, but from changing vision, perspective, and possibility.

In the coming months of 2026, we’ll be rolling out new offerings under the MP6 brand, including a travel coaching package, online courses, and more. We’ll also be sharing stories—about travel coaching, about journeys taken, and about what unfolds along the way.

And like any good travelers, we hope you’ll join us—bringing your curiosity, your feedback, and your own stories of transition.
Follow us here, on Instagram, LinkedIn or Substack.

Here’s to curiosity, courage, and rediscovery. I’m so glad you’re here. Let’s see where the journey takes us. 🌎✈️

I’m excited to share that I’m now a Certified Travel Coach through The Travel Coach Network!

This certification is a big milestone in work I care deeply about: helping people use intentional travel as a catalyst for clarity, confidence, and life/career transitions that actually feel aligned.

Those who know me know that travel is deeply woven into who I am and how I show up as a leader and professional. I’ve long thought about the transformative intersection of travel, experiential learning, coaching, and leadership, especially in times of transition. I was thrilled to find The Travel Coach Network met that very intersection.

And tomorrow, I’ll be officially launching a new coaching + travel venture under the MP6 Consulting umbrella for professionals who are ready to intentionally design their “what’s next” instead of drifting into it.

Stay tuned - and if you’ve been feeling stuck, burnt out, or on the edge of a new chapter, I’d love to connect and explore how travel coaching could support you. ✈️🌍

(If you’re interested in the Travel Coach Certification Program, see a link in the comments below! It’s an ICF-certified program for my fellow coaches who are also looking for CEUs). ⬇️

Do you have geographical places that contain deep resonance for you- especially in times of transition or uncertainty?

In my latest Substack blog, I explore one of those places for me. I’m leaning into sensory experiences to enhance my own leadership and personal development. I’m learning to lean not only on my mind (hello, I love a good cognitive tangle) but also gut, body, spirit, and senses.

Excited to continue exploring the nexus of travel, coaching, transitions, and transformation. Incredibly juicy topic for me and can’t wait to see where it takes me (and us!) next.

Check out the link in the comments to read more and with some coaching prompts for you too!

(Ps-shout out to Karen Walrond that first got me noodling on this idea of geography in her Substack post in early September. Check out her account- and new book!)

A deeply informative event at this weekend to hear in conversation with to discuss her newest book, “Strong Ground.” I appreciated the nuances of language, distinction, and thoughts that truly will help my clients and my Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator practice (not to mention me personally!)

A few nuggets that were shared:

🌟 Mission critical = mission clarity.

🌟Leadership is both plumbing and poetry.

🌟 We are wired for certainty, not paradox. Yet the longer we hold the tension of paradox, something new can emerge that we can’t imagine in the beginning.

🌟 Joy, connection, and compassion are acts of resistance

🌟 Strong Ground in moments of fear and loss - creating connection with others and checking on each other.

🌟Hope IS a strategy (more on that once I dig into that research )

Truly a wonderful night with a long, long list of notes. Shout out to my colleague Erica who made it both meaningful and fun. (I so do love my colleagues in this work!)

Happy Launch Day to !

It’s been an honor to facilitate this work as a Certified Dare to Lead™ Facilitator and partner with leaders, teams and organizations to embed these principles in the day to day. It’s not always easy work, but man, it’s worth it. I can’t wait to see what findings arise from our community of practice in this book. (and oof, the “Tenacity of Paradox.” I feel that one already before reading a word).

On a personal note- What a joy to receive a signed advance copy last week. Brené’s language and framework has been something I personally have returned to over and over the last 13 years. It has provided language for me on navigating hard moments, courage, vulnerability (still a work in progress) and leaning into our most tender moments of vulnerability- joy. It has been wed into my being AND I continue uncovering new learnings and nuances as I live and facilitate this work.

Bravo Brené. Can’t wait to dig in.

LFG. 💪🏼

Love to travel?

Anyone who knows me knows that traveling is my jam. I love the experiences and insights I gain from exploration. Travel gives me confidence and resilience, and allows me to tap into my courage. It gives me new insights, new ways of being and ultimately highlights new possibilities - especially in times of transitions.

Sounds a lot like... coaching.

To that end, I’m exploring the intersection of coaching, transitions, travel and transformation through a new Substack page. This new writing space is dedicated to helping people navigate professional and life transitions with curiosity and courage. You’ll find thoughtful reflections, practical tools, and stories from the road—all with the goal of sparking perspective and encouraging growth.

The intent is not perfection - because no journey ever is, literal or metaphorical. It’s a space where I hope to ruminate on this intersection and be in community with others as I explore this intersection.

If you’re interested in following my exploration of where travel, change, coaching, and resilience meet , I’d love for you to subscribe. (Link in the comments).

Here’s to navigating new chapters together. 🌍✍️

Where might your limiting beliefs be holding you back?

Feeling deeply grateful to facilitate two powerful sessions with two powerful colleagues, Gail Jacob Barker, BA, CPCC, PCC and Sheryl Brinkley this week for the on this topic. We supported the current WIA Catalyst cohort with a Leader Lab focused on Saboteurs, Inner Critic, and Limiting Beliefs (noisy little things, aren’t they, those saboteurs).

Looking at our saboteurs and limiting beliefs can be challenging and tender work. Those actions that served us well and kept us safe in our earlier years may no longer be serving us. AND - it’s not an all or nothing proposition. Our saboteurs are often a flip side of some of our greatest individual strengths. The key is finding the distinction - and tipping point!- when they work for us, and when they don’t.

Thanks again to my colleagues, WIA, Emily Wasuna and the amazing participants- who courageously look at their own saboteurs and enrich our learnings and facilitation as well!

MP6 Consulting kicks off it’s 10th year of business today!

This picture was taken 9 years ago, on June 3, 2016. It was my final picture departing my government office. I remember the simultaneous feelings of excitement and fear as I departed what I had known all my adult life.

So many reflections and so much growing over the last 9 years, now as we go into our 10th. I’ve learned how to deal with vulnerability and ambiguity much better (work in progress), understood how to adapt to market changes and my own interests, and have met amazing people along the way. I’ve navigated the fear of recessions and COVID, and have realized the resulting increase in strength and resourcefulness that has emerged. The learning happens every day, and keeps on coming. 🪴

More insights and posts forthcoming throughout the year to celebrate the beginning of our 10th year - but thankful to more people than I can count for walking alongside me and believing in me. Entrepreneurship takes a village, no doubt about it.

More to come throughout the year!

What is your process for readjusting?

What are your tells that you are on the right (or wrong) track?

Last year at this time, I was just starting to return from maternity leave. I stepped back into work a bit disoriented- can I work at the same level before my son was born? How do I know how much to take on and still be of high value and performance to my clients? How do I adjust – and egads, say no to some things – to honor my shifting values, new family and how I want to spend my time in this season?

It quickly became clear the way to show up the best for my family, my clients, for ME – the way I’m working had to shift.  It’s required new skills, new muscles, new paradigms, and different “yes’s” and “no’s”.  It’s required discomfort and immense learning (Um, hello, recovering people pleaser here). It’s involved more intentional integration – which I know is a privilege and one I never take for granted.

I stumble (a lot), I adjust (a lot).  Each new leap of my son requires readjustment.  Each new work season brings forth different realities in the market and client needs.

And- sunsets like these on a business trip to Tampa last week, with ice cream with my son and au pair, give me clues that sometimes the intentionality and integration clicks.

Appreciated the opportunity to speak at the Federal Senior Executive Leadership Summit sponsored by the Senior Executives Association and last week. These are challenging times for leaders leading in the public sector- and I continue to be impressed with their intelligence, heart, stewardship of taxpayer dollars and mission focus amidst rapid change. They are a critical component to our democracy and it was an honor to be in discussion with them about leading through change.
