The Leadership Algona Class spent their September 1 session learning about the many opportunities to get involved, give back, and be a positive influence in our community.

The day kicked off with an inspiring and motivational Eagle Presentation from Stacy Besch, where the class learned about setting an example for others, the power of influence, working together, and one important reminder — attitude is everything!

Stacy kept the class engaged with interactive activities, including blindfolded dart throwing, team puzzles, and a yarn activity demonstrating how we are all connected and the impact we can have on those around us.

The rest of the day, the class met with 12 local service groups and organizations throughout Kossuth County to learn more about what they do, who they serve, and the many ways they give back and make a difference.

It was a full day of learning, connecting, and seeing firsthand the impact of community involvement. And they even found time for a little fun along the way, taking advantage of the Kiwanis Zipline at Tietz Park!

Museum Crawl tickets are available!

Grab your spouse, invite some friends, and get ready to spend the evening exploring Algona’s local history! Join us Thursday, September 10 from 6:00–8:00 PM for an evening of museum hopping, local stories, tasty appetizers, and samples from our local breweries, winery, and distillery.

Tickets are $25 each and are available now at the Algona Chamber Office and participating museums — or you can purchase your ticket the night of the event at your first museum stop!

We will NOT have our regular Weekly Chamber Coffee on Friday, September 4 due to the Labor Day holiday weekend.

However, you’re invited to attend the Bishop Garrigan Coffee at 9:00 a.m. at the Spirit Zone by Conway Field! Stop by for coffee, rolls, and conversation while hearing an update on the bleacher project and all the great things happening at Bishop Garrigan.

Thank you to Northwest Bank for hosting this week’s Chamber Coffee and welcoming our Chamber members into the Algona branch!

Pat Berte, President of the Algona Northwest Bank Branch, and Justin Oman, Ag/Commercial Banker, SVP, introduced many of the Algona staff and shared more about the wide variety of services Northwest Bank provides to individuals, families, businesses, and area ag producers.

They also talked about Northwest Bank’s commitment to giving back and supporting the Algona community whenever possible. From supporting local organizations and events to investing in the people and programs that make our area stronger, community involvement continues to be an important part of what they do.
