Before MedellĂn became known for innovation, design, and nightlife, coffee was already helping shape the rhythm of the region.
The story did not begin in the city itself. It grew in the mountains of Antioquia, where elevation, rainfall, and steep terrain created ideal conditions for coffee farming. As production expanded, MedellĂn became an important commercial center for moving, financing, processing, and exporting coffee, helping connect the surrounding countryside to the wider world.
That history is still part of the city today. You feel it in the cafĂŠs, in the pace of conversation, and in the way coffee remains less of a product and more of a ritual.
And that is part of what makes The Retreat different. We are not just going somewhere beautiful. We are going somewhere with a story, a culture, and a point of view worth experiencing.
A few seats remain for The Retreat Live 2027 in MedellĂn.
