Protection District The Allenspark Fire Protection District located in Allenspark, CO is staffed by 28 volunteers.

Our response area covers approximately 160 square miles in rural Larimer and Boulder Counties. Special services that we provide in addition to Fire Protection and Emergency Medical Services are Search and Rescue, Camp Inspections, Fire Prevention and Mutual Aid to neighboring agencies. The fire district has mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments such as Estes Valley, Lyons, Indian

Peaks, LeftHand Canyon, PineWood Springs and the United States Forest Service. The department operates under a 911 dispatch system through Boulder County Communications. The department uses portable and vehicle radios. The fire district operates as a special district and all funding for the operation of the fire district is from property tax revenues and donations. The District is governed by an elected board which meets monthly at the main fire station in Allenspark.

Join us May 21 for First Aid Basics – CPR & AED Use, Stroke, Difficulty Breathing, Heart Attack

This event will feature stations for each topic run by Allenspark Fire EMTs. The focus will be hands-on practice of basic things you can do to help before emergency services arrive. Dedicated stations will provide a conversational approach to learning and the opportunity for hands-on skills practice.

🚩🚩 Red Flag Warning 🚩🚩
The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00AM until 8:00PM.

Open burning including agricultural burning is Prohibited.

The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* TIMING...For the first Red Flag Warning, until 7 PM MDT this evening. For the second Red Flag Warning, from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Friday.

* WINDS...West 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For the
second Red Flag Warning, west/southwest winds gusting up to
35-40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 8 percent. For the second Red Flag Warning, between 7% and 14%.

* IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread.
Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
