**🚨 Important Update for Anyone Selling Catalytic Converters in Ohio**

Ohio’s new catalytic converter law (House Bill 210) takes effect **October 6, 2026**. The goal is to crack down on theft by making it much harder to sell stolen converters.

Here’s what it means for **legitimate sellers** like you:

- **Proof of ownership is required.** You’ll need documentation showing the converter came from a vehicle you own or legally control (vehicle title/registration, a repair bill/invoice that shows the converter was removed and replaced along with the vehicle’s make, model, year, and VIN, or paperwork from a licensed repair shop/dealer). An official affidavit option will also be available in certain cases.
- Scrap metal dealers can only purchase **one catalytic converter per person per day** (with limited exceptions for licensed motor vehicle dealers).
- Payments will be by check or other traceable method, with a short holding period.

**Carpenter Metal is ready.**
We’re a licensed, high-volume scrap metal recycler in Alliance that already follows strict documentation and reporting rules. When the new law hits, we’ll help you through the process so you can sell legally and get paid fairly.

Whether you have one converter or several (within the daily limits), bring them to us. We’ll walk you through the paperwork, handle the compliance side, and give you competitive pricing on legitimate material.

Got questions about what documents you’ll need or how the new rules work? Call or message us — we’re here to help Ohio sellers stay on the right side of the law.

Excellent read.
Data centers are coming whether we like it or not. Every person with a cell phone is demanding the infrastructure that powers them — including the people protesting the same centers. The spending is going to happen, and you and I are going to help pay for it one way or another.
The only real question left is whether we want the benefits of having one in our town.
The answer is absolutely yes.
High-paying jobs. Clean, modern construction. Supporting businesses that will flock to locate near the centers. New power and data infrastructure that will make the area even more attractive for additional industry. That means more jobs for our kids and our grandkids.
We have a rare chance to invest in a brighter future right here at home.
Come on, Alliance — don’t let this opportunity go to someone else’s children. Let’s stake our claim in the next gold rush.

Railroads faced the same backlash that AI data centers do now: deforestation, displaced towns, corporate greed. Here's how that story ended.
