Rain rain go away! 🌧️ Out of an abundance of caution with approaching storms, Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival will not be taking place tomorrow, October 10.

‼️ The good news is that tonight’s performances, including Cory Smith, are still on! Show up at 6pm TODAY for all the live music action and make sure to catch Cory Smith at 8:45pm (originally scheduled for later).

Friday is still a GO at Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival. See you there!

Well, it looks like the weather has other plans for Wire & Wood Songwriters Festival this weekend.

The good news? Music continues downtown tonight from 6:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., weather permitting. We hope you’ll join us while conditions allow.

The hard news is that Saturday’s festival has been canceled due to the severe weather forecast. This was an incredibly difficult decision, and we know how much this weekend means to our songwriters, performers, vendors, partners and the community.

Wire & Wood has always been a rain-or-shine event, but this forecast is beyond your typical rainy festival day. With dangerous winds and severe conditions expected, tents, equipment and other structures could become hazards. Most importantly, we will not put the safety of our community, artists, vendors, volunteers or staff at risk.

With Georgia under a state of emergency, we encourage everyone to take the forecast seriously, follow guidance from emergency management officials, avoid unnecessary travel and please don’t take chances on the roads to attend an event.

We’re heartbroken to pull the plug on Saturday, but safety comes first. A heartfelt thank-you to our songwriters and musicians, event partners, vendors, volunteers, sponsors and the entire Alpharetta community for the time, talent, hard work and support that make Wire & Wood what it is. We’re grateful to everyone who helps bring original music to our streets and makes this festival special year after year.

Thank you for understanding and for being part of the Wire & Wood community.
