Big thanks to Mick Mulhall and the team for being generous enough to open their doors and show us how a successful landscape business actually runs. ๐ŸŒฟ

Most of us never get to do this.

You canโ€™t walk into a competitorโ€™s yard and ask how they price renewals. You canโ€™t sit with another ownerโ€™s GM and ask what crew turnover looked like last year. Weโ€™ve all wanted those conversations.

Thereโ€™s rarely an occasion for them.

On June 24, there will be.

Hereโ€™s what Day 2 of Envision at Mulhallโ€™s looks like:

You walk in at 9:45. Mick himself welcomes the group. No script. No projector. Just the person running the business, standing on his own floor.

By 10:30, youโ€™re inside their construction operation asking how theyโ€™re hiring foremen this season and what theyโ€™re doing to retain crews.

Then Account Management - the conversation everyone wants and nobody has:
How are they thinking about renewal pricing? Whatโ€™s working? What isnโ€™t?

Youโ€™ll spend time in Strategy, Culture, and Field Leadership ๐ŸŒฑ with the people who actually own those parts of the business. You can ask anything.

Lunch isnโ€™t a panel discussion. Itโ€™s a seat at the table with the team.

And by the time youโ€™re on the bus back to the hotel, youโ€™ll already have a list started:
The things you want to change first - and how.

When a landscape contract goes sideways, the easy place to point is the field. The crew missed a step. The PM didn't communicate. The account manager dropped the ball.

After thirty years of watching this play out, I can tell you: it's almost never the people.

It's the handoff.

Every landscape contract passes through six stages between the day it's sold and the day it's renewed:

Lead โžก๏ธ Design โžก๏ธ Estimate โžก๏ธ Sold โžก๏ธ Work-in-Progress โžก๏ธ Close-Out.

Six stages. Five handoffs. And the gap between "sold" and "work-in-progress" is where most landscape companies quietly bleed margin, trust, and renewals.

โš ๏ธ It's the gap where scopes don't reach the crew on time.
โš ๏ธ Where site plans arrive late.
โš ๏ธ Where gate codes don't get passed on.
โš ๏ธ Where labor budgets get assumed instead of confirmed.

The crew didn't fail the client. The handoff did.

We've been teaching a six-stage discipline to landscape owners for thirty years. We call it Start Clean, Finish Clean.

The premise is simple. Implementing it inside a working business is the work of years.

โœ… Day 3 of Envision 2026 on June 25 is dedicated to unpacking the whole thing โ€” and showing how Mulhall's uses it to keep client trust strong and stay ahead of churn.

If you've ever watched a job go sideways and known it wasn't really the crew's fault, this is the room for you.

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ A few seats left.

The final Day 3 speaker at Envision 2026 we want to introduce.

Loren McIrvin is the CEO of Allied Landscape - one of the largest privately owned landscape firms in the Bay Area, headquartered in Livermore, California. Second-generation operator. His mother ran a small landscape management company when he was a kid. The work has been in his life from the beginning.

Here's the part that makes Loren interesting right now: while a large portion of the industry is being absorbed by private equity, Loren has been publicly clear about where Allied stands. In his own words: "Allied Landscape is one of the largest privately owned landscape firms in the Bay Area with no intentions of selling or 'partnering' with private equity investors that squeeze good service and negatively impact our local ecology for a few extra cents on the dollar."

That's the kind of conviction you want on a stage at Envision.

Loren has built Allied around three things - strong processes that scale, technology rolled out the right way (he insists on testing with small groups before company-wide), and a leadership team that's currently 50% women. He's also been a longtime voice on sustainability in commercial landscaping, including moving the business beyond glyphosate years before the industry started discussing it.

On Thursday, June 25, Loren joins the owner panel to walk through what running the Green Dot Operating System looks like inside an independent, multi-branch business that has chosen, deliberately, to stay independent. As he puts it: "Strong processes allow us to grow while maintaining quality, performance, and accountability across all branches."

If you've been weighing what it takes to scale a landscape business without losing what made it work in the first place โ€” this is the session.

Introducing our Day 3 speaker at Envision 2026 - and one we've been quietly excited about for a while.

Jeffrey Johns is the CEO of Coastal Greenery, the commercial landscape maintenance company he founded in 1994 on St. Simons Island, Georgia. UGA degree in Landscape Architecture. Today, Coastal Greenery serves commercial and industrial clients across Southeast Georgia, North Florida, and South Carolina.

Here's the part most people miss about Jeffrey: he didn't start the company because he loved business. He started it because he loved plants. The business side he had to learn the hard way - by his own count, several years of 70-hour weeks before any of it started running properly.

That experience shows up in how he talks about the work today. Coastal Greenery runs an internal framework Jeffrey calls "100 Days of Victory" - a deliberate reframing of the brutal spring season, when most landscape companies are just trying to survive, into a window for the team to do their best work of the year.

That is the kind of thinking you want on a stage at Envision.

On Thursday, June 25, Jeffrey joins the owner panel to walk through how the Green Dot Operating System runs inside a real commercial maintenance operation, and what changes when an owner who came up through horticulture meets a system built for scale.

If you've been wondering what GDOS looks like installed inside a maintenance-led business โ€” this is the session.

A Day 3 speaker at Envision 2026 we've been looking forward to introducing.

Nick DiBenedetto is the Founder and President of ND Landscape Services - a Massachusetts-based design/build, maintenance, and snow operation he started in 1981. Forty-four years. Same company. Same name on the door.

A number that sits with you: the average client at ND Landscape stays for around 17 years. That's not a marketing line. That's what happens when the same team shows up on the same properties for long enough that the work becomes a relationship.

That's the kind of person you want on a stage at Envision.

On Thursday, June 25, Nick joins the owner panel - alongside other operators running the Green Dot Operating System inside real businesses to walk through what GDOS looks like installed inside a company that's been compounding for four decades. The conversations they had to have. The parts that worked faster than expected. The parts they had to fight for.

If you've ever wondered what the Green Dot System looks like inside a business built for the long haul, this is the session.

Most conferences hand you slides.๐Ÿ“Š

On June 24, we hand you a working landscape business.๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ—๏ธ

Day 2 is the centerpiece of Envision 2026. Here's what it looks like.๐Ÿ‘‡

The morning starts at the Marriott Omaha Downtown.
Breakfast, then Ken Thomas and Ben Gandy open the day with a presentation on the Green Dot Operating System - what it is, why it works, and exactly what you're about to see on the floor.

Then the bus leaves for Mulhall's.

The rest of the day is inside a $25M+ landscape operation. Mick Mulhall - the owner - welcomes you personally. ๐Ÿค

Then you walk through the Green Dot Operating System the way it actually runs, station by station:

๐ŸŒฑ Construction
๐ŸŒฑ Maintenance
๐ŸŒฑ Account Management
๐ŸŒฑ Financial & Key Metrics
๐ŸŒฑ Vision, Strategy & Structure
๐ŸŒฑ Human Resources
๐ŸŒฑ Lean Productivity Planning

You donโ€™t watch a slide deck about these.
You walk through the operation where each one lives.

Lunch is on-site with the Mulhallโ€™s leadership team. ๐Ÿฝ๏ธ
Informal. Real conversations. The questions youโ€™ve been waiting to ask โ€” thatโ€™s the time to ask them.

Then back to the stations through the afternoon.
You return to the Marriott in the late afternoon. The evening is yours. ๐ŸŒ†

This is the day most attendees tell us was worth the trip on its own.
