Managing a workplace means managing everything that keeps it running.

OfficeSpace now connects workplace requests with asset work orders, bringing the teams that report, manage and resolve an issue into one connected workflow.

With the new Asset Manager and Request Manager integration, a service request becomes a linked work order with the location, attachments and asset, when known, already included. Your team chooses whether requests route automatically or get reviewed first.

As the work progresses, status updates flow back to the original request. When the work order is complete, the request is resolved.

That tension sat at the heart of Built World Leaders Live Atlanta, where workplace leaders joined , and at Le Colonial.

One finding from our Built World Market Report brought the challenge into focus: room bookings rose 20% year over year, while collaboration space accounted for just 16% of floor plans. An organization can have available capacity and still lack the space its teams need. For anyone deciding where to invest, understanding that distinction can change the case for expansion, consolidation or redesign.

Yet evidence alone can't settle which outcome to prioritize. Leaders were open about what complicates that choice: competing needs across dozens of teams, gaps in workforce planning, and the challenge of securing support across functions. As Erin put it, a plan built to keep everyone happy can become "an expensive smile." AI can help compare scenarios and weigh their consequences, but deciding which tradeoffs to accept stays with leaders.

This is where peer conversation becomes valuable: the chance to test assumptions against decisions others have had to make and defend.

Before the next workplace commitment, ask whether finance, facilities, HR, real estate and the relevant business units agree on what would make it a good investment. That agreement turns it into a decision the whole organization can stand behind, and gives you a clearer basis for demonstrating value.
