Well…I am not a fan of Tropical Storm Rachel! She not only flooded our property, she wreaked havoc with the stock!
Nearly 3” of rain in 24hrs, wind and temps dropped 30+ degrees.
The jack c**t is losing his mind and suddenly decided to try mounting and biting his brothers and mom. Had to separate mom from him.
The fillies were full of themselves for the farrier. The wind and rain picked up and one decided she was not in need of a pedicure in the wind and rain 🌧️.
I suppose that was a good thing because I heard Harmony let out a labor scream. She went into labor but was not dilating. Thankful Dr. Blanche was willing to see her at the clinic after hours. Barely got the trailer out of the slick red clay and got Harmony to the vet to see if she could get her to dilate. Sadly is wasn’t enough and she needed a c-section.
Twilight Ranch Harmony x Alpine Pygmies TalkToMeGoose had a beautiful 3.2lb brown agouti doeling. She had a heart beat but aspirated a lot of fluid and the sedation meds Harmony needed for the c-section were too much for the doeling; she passed about an hour after she was born while Harmony was being put back together.
Harmony isn’t out of the woods yet, and the weather isn’t helping!
Got home after midnight to the pool flooding, a new water feature on the putting green, and the donkey pasture fence line washed out.
