Two Centuries of Silence 🤐 The Story of Survival
If you don’t have time to read books, I’ve summarized them for you.
In the book “Two Centuries of Silence” written by Abdolhossein Zarrinkoub, we read:
After the fall of the Sassanian Empire and the Arab invasion, Iran entered a very difficult period.
For nearly two centuries, the voice of the people was silenced.
The Iranian language, culture, and identity came under pressure, and people could not freely think or speak.
But life continued. Despite the hardships, people kept trying, resisting, and holding on to hope.
Zarrinkoub shows that the culture and identity of a nation, even during a long period of silence, always have the ability to return.
Within that silence, people gradually learned again how to find their voice and shape their own history.
As a result:
Two Centuries of Silence reminds us that even when everything seems quiet, hope, effort, and resistance can bring the voice of people and nations back to life.
I have always believed that history is not only the story of hardships; it is also the story of hope surviving.
Nations may fall into silence for a time, but culture, roots, and identity are like a tree that remains alive even under the soil and eventually sprouts again.
That is why Two Centuries of Silence, for me, is less a story of silence and more a story of two centuries of survival
the story of people who, through hope, patience, and resilience, learned to rediscover their voice.
And perhaps that is the greatest lesson of history:
“The voice of a nation may grow quiet for a time, but it is never silenced forever.” 🌱
