🏳️‍🌈 Another Successful Event in the Books! 💚💙

We have officially wrapped up our second consecutive year providing security for Orlando Pride’s Come Out With Pride Festival at Lake Eola in Downtown Orlando!

Providing security for an event of this size takes countless hours of planning, preparation, coordination, and dedication from an incredible team of professionals.

While the long hours and sleepless nights aren’t always easy, they’re part of what it takes to help ensure an event runs safely and smoothly.

This weekend was no exception. Our ownership team put in over 42 hours awake preparing for and overseeing this event, while many of our security officers worked shifts averaging 12–20 hours on site. That’s the level of commitment our team brings to the table, from ownership to the officers working the front lines.

Security is something we will never take lightly. Every detail matters, every decision counts, and the responsibility of helping protect thousands of attendees, staff, vendors, and performers is one we take seriously.

I’m incredibly proud of our Eastern Security Inc. team for their hard work, dedication, and professionalism. These events don’t happen successfully because of one person. They happen because of a team willing to put in the work, even when nobody is watching.

From the early planning stages to the final officer leaving the property, our commitment remains the same: Protecting What Matters Most.

Last week at the Florida Festivals and Events Association Annual Conference, we showcased how Eastern Security works alongside event professionals to support safe, organized and successful experiences. From festivals and concerts to conferences and community celebrations, our team understands the planning, communication and coordination required before the gates open.

Event planners spend significant time thinking about how guests will enter, but getting everyone out safely deserves equal attention.

Ingress and egress planning should consider:

• The number and capacity of entrances and exits
• Pedestrian and vehicle conflicts
• Accessible routes
• Emergency exit visibility
• Lighting and signage
• End-of-event crowd surges
• Rideshare and pickup areas
• Exit routes that may become blocked

Normal departure, emergency evacuation, and shelter-in-place situations require different procedures. Each should be discussed before the gates open.

🚨 Here’s Why Tent Weights Matter at Events 🚨

This photo is a perfect example of why properly securing tents isn’t optional—it’s a critical part of event safety.

A sudden gust of wind can turn an unsecured tent into a dangerous projectile in seconds. Even when a tent doesn’t become airborne, collapsing frames and shifting structures can cause serious injuries to guests, vendors, and staff.

Tent weights are designed to:
✅ Keep tents anchored during changing weather conditions.
✅ Protect attendees, vendors, and event personnel.
✅ Prevent damage to equipment and surrounding property.
✅ Help event organizers meet industry safety standards and best practices.
✅ Reduce the risk of costly accidents and liability.

The image above shows a tent that remained on the ground because it was properly weighted and anchored. While the canopy sustained damage from severe weather, the weights helped prevent it from becoming airborne and potentially causing much more serious harm.

Safety isn’t just about responding to emergencies—it’s about preventing them.

Before every event, ask yourself:

* Is every tent properly weighted for its size?
* Are weights secured correctly?
* Is the weather being actively monitored?
* Do we have a plan if conditions deteriorate?

A few hundred pounds of properly installed tent weights can be the difference between a damaged tent and a catastrophic incident.
