Jesus and a Stormtrooper walk into The Wedge….😅

Have you heard this one? Well I haven’t, but this is what I saw when I was cleaning up an area of our community kitchen the other day.

So what is this? What deep meaning does this represent? What is the rest of the joke here?🤔

There’s really no joke going on here. This is just a small representation, a small reminder of the amazingly fun culture we have built here at the Wedge in Alton and we couldn’t be more proud of our members.

We, the staff at the Wedge, have zero interest in building and operating a coworking center. I know you’re probably saying, “Wait, but you are doing that.” 🤔

And sure, you are correct, at a mechanical level we are doing this and also building an entrepreneurial hub, but you’d be wrong about where our passion and purpose really lie…the most important aspect of this business and the one that will make it all come together. ⬇️

We are building the most amazing coworking culture on the planet. A place in an amazing riverfront community where people can connect and build their own dreams. A place where they can learn and elevate to the levels of success they want to achieve. 🌟

When you decide to come see the Wedge, you’ll certainly see one of the most incredible spaces in Southwest Illinois, but you’ll come to understand this place is different from all the other coworking spaces around. And it’s not just because of the amazing architecture, design and amenities. Those are really awesome by the way. 💯

The Wedge just gained an incredible partner that gets it.

I'm excited to welcome the Leadership Council Southwestern Illinois (LCSWIL) as one of our newest partners at The Wedge powered by SIUE.

And what makes this partnership even more special is where they wanted to start.

Their sponsorship is enabling veterans to utilize The Wedge with free day passes through 2026. Let that sink in for a moment. A regional leadership organization looked at what we're building and said, "How do we make sure veterans have a seat at the table?"

That question means everything to me as a retired military member myself.

If you've followed my journey, you know my heart for the military community runs extremely deep. I spent 25+ years in the Air Force, and I've seen first-hand what happens when veterans have access to the right environment, the right people, the right connections and the right opportunities. They don't just show up. They contribute. They lead. And they elevate everyone around them. It 100% contagious! And soon, they are pushing those around them in all the right places to ensure others succeed. 🤝

That's exactly what's happening at The Wedge. And now, because of LCSWIL, more veterans will be able to walk through our doors, grab coffee and a desk, make connections, and find their next mission. 🫡

This is how you shape what comes next in Alton and the Riverbend Region. Not with press releases and committees, but with partners who put real resources behind real people in their region.
