St. Louis Magazine takes a look inside The Wedge, Alton’s first coworking space.

The $33 million historic redevelopment transformed two Downtown Alton buildings into a 55,000-square-foot coworking and entrepreneurship hub with private offices, flexible workspace, a gym and rooftop views. The project has also earned five awards for its design and historic preservation.

But the story is as much about the people inside the building as the building itself. Members describe a culture where entrepreneurs, small businesses, remote workers and creatives exchange ideas, make connections and help each other grow. CEO Scot Heathman discusses what The Wedge has learned during its first year and how the space continues to adapt around the people using it.
