Imagine being so bothered by women having rights that you casually tell a woman’s husband she shouldn’t be allowed to drive or vote. While she’s standing right there. In 2026. 💀

I genuinely don’t know whether to laugh or scream.

But it reminded me why I’m so passionate about helping women build businesses, understand their finances, and create independence on their own terms.

Because having your own money, your own voice, and the freedom to make your own decisions shouldn’t be controversial.

And while some people apparently wish we could turn back the clock, I’ll be over here helping women build futures where they never have to ask permission to take up space. 🖤

With year-end creeping up, now is a good time to figure out what’s happening in your business finances, clean up anything that’s been neglected, and head into the new year with a little more clarity (and a lot less anxiety).

Your bookkeeping doesn’t magically fix itself when the clock strikes midnight on December 31st. Unfortunately. 😂

Here are 5 things you should know about your business finances BEFORE year-end:

1. Your bank balance isn’t your profit. Having money in your account doesn’t automatically mean your business is profitable.
2. Reconcile your accounts. Every bank account, credit card, and loan should be reconciled so you know your numbers are actually accurate.
3. Check your outstanding invoices. Who still owes you money? And are there any unpaid bills you’ve completely forgotten about?
4. Review your expense categories. Misclassified expenses can distort your financial statements and create unnecessary headaches during tax season.
5. Don’t wait until January to clean up a year’s worth of transactions. The earlier you catch mistakes, the easier they generally are to fix.

And please remember, bookkeeping isn’t just something we do to make the IRS happy. It’s how you understand what’s happening inside the business you’re working so damn hard to build.
