Missing any W-2's? The IRS has some advice for you!

It’s a good idea to have all your tax documents together before preparing your 2012 tax return. You will need your W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, which employers should send by the end of January. Give it two weeks to arrive by mail.

WASHINGTON — The Internal Revenue Service today opened the 2013 filing season by announcing a variety of enhanced products and services to help taxpayers prepare and file their tax returns by the April 15 deadline.

On January 4, 2013 the Altoona Area School District notified Blair County Tax Collection Bureau that any over-payments from 2011 Local Income Tax Returns that were designated to be credited to your 2012 Local Income Tax Balance Due, will not be forwarded to the Bureau. Instead, the credits that the Altoona Area School District are holding will be refunded directly to the taxpayers.

WASHINGTON — Following the January tax law changes made by Congress under the American Taxpayer Relief Act (ATRA), the Internal Revenue Service announced today it plans to open the 2013 filing season and begin processing individual income tax returns on Jan. 30.
