If the alarm sounds, get out and call 911. Most CO alarms sound a repeating series of 4 beeps. πŸ”ŠπŸ”ŠπŸ”ŠπŸ”Š Replace your CO alarm at least every 7 years. Check the date on the back of the alarm to see when it expires. The sensors wear out - an expired alarm may not protect you.

Most people won't copy and paste this to their profile but I know who my two friends are.
Volunteer fire departments all across the country are in serious trouble. Lack of staffing , lack of people willing to help, many small departments are on the verge of shutting down forever. The demands of everyday life are often forefront in the mind when asking someone to volunteer their time and effort to join a department. In the early 2000s there were almost 1 million volunteer firefighters in the United States, that number is now down to 600,000 or less. The members departments do have are getting older, retiring, or moving away, and there's no one coming in behind them to replace them. The fire service in general and we in particular are in very serious trouble. Without new volunteers, trucks run short staffed , responses are delayed, emergency response to our most vulnerable citizens needing help can be severely impacted. Without you, yes you, stepping up to help, there may come a day when there is no one local left to respond to emergencies, and help may have to come from a quite longer distance away. Please ask your local volunteer department how you can help, there are many areas where help is needed, some require more training, some you can get up to speed on in one weekend. Please consider what might happen if the next time you have an emergency there are no volunteers there to answer the call. Message your local department today and find out how you can be apart of something that really does make a difference.
