AEDC recently hosted the management team of Hansa-Express Logistics GmbH, which is part of a 200-member German defense cluster, to explore how Amarillo offers the best location to get started in the transatlantic defense logistics industry. According to Hansa-Express management team, “Space creates safety for us. That’s why we chose an area that’s not so crowded. Dallas or Houston, that would be impossible for us.”

These site visits are intended to introduce companies to industry partners, workforce and training institutions, and show off our city. Of course, no visit to Amarillo is complete without a visit to some of our famous local spots, like the breathtaking Palo Duro Canyon, the legendary Big Texan, and the Cadillac Ranch.

The Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) will host a public meet and greet for newly appointed President and CEO Andreas Eckstein, PhD, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on June 2 in the Amarillo City Hall Council Chambers.

Community members are invited to attend and meet Eckstein as he begins his leadership role with AEDC.
