Another driveway improvement! ✨😎

For this project:

✅ We widened the driveway entrance by installing (2) 8-foot concrete culvert pipes on both sides, creating a wider - more accessible entrance!

✅ We also hauled in fresh gravel and spread it across the driveway to give it a clean, durable finish.

Small improvements like these can make a big difference in both the appearance and functionality of your property. 🏡

We wanted to introduce the faces behind DComp’s Services, Daniel & Afton! ✨💛

A little backstory on how DComp’s became what it is today…

Daniel started out with a single lawn mower and landscaping for local homeowners. Continuing this through High School + college, Daniel knew that he wanted to work for himself in his career. So, DComp’s was born for landscaping services in 2017!

It wasn’t soon after he finished college, Daniel started venturing out into different kinds of land management like land clearing, excavation, grading, tree removal, drainage, hauling, driveway installs, etc. In 2019, DComp’s Services steered away from landscaping and dived primarily into excavation, grading, + hauling services. At a young age, Daniel always appreciated big equipment (excavators, dozers, skid steer, etc.) so to say he is living his dream is an understatement. And our customers make it happen! 🤎

Afton operates the social media, paperwork, some of the behind-the-scenes stuff, and runs parts to + from the job sites for Daniel!

We want to express our most highest appreciation of our customers, family, + friends who have always supported our business! We are SO thankful to God for where DComp’s Services is today and we look forward to the future of it! Thank you for being here! ☺️🤎🇺🇸

Here’s some pictures from a recent concrete slab we poured in the Powhatan area! We performed all the necessary base and grade work, forming, pouring and finishing of this 12’ x 60’ slab that will be the foundation for a future covered porch on this home!

It’s been a while since we’ve posted on here, so we wanted to check in and say—we’re still here and still operating full-time! 👋🏼

Things have been busy lately (in the best way), and we’ve been incredibly blessed with the work that has come our way. ☺️

✨ Meet the Owners ✨

We’re Daniel and Afton, the owners behind Red Cedar Ranch. ❤️

We’ve been together for 9 years and have proudly called Amelia County our home for the last 5 years. What started as a dream and love for livestock has grown into a business we are incredibly passionate about!

👩🏼‍⚕️🩺 Afton is a registered nurse who works part-time at the hospital while also managing the social media, customer communication, running the markets + pickups, and handling delivery days for the ranch.

👷🏻‍♂️🌲 Daniel owns his own excavation company DComp's Services and oversees the production and logistics side of the ranch. He’s also the fence repairer and pasture rotation/breeding manager for the cows!

While we each have different roles within the business, one thing we both equally share is the day-to-day care of our animals! That really could never be a one person job. From early mornings to late nights and long days to no days off, caring for the farm and everything on it is truly a team effort. 🤠

Red Cedar Ranch is more than just a business to us — it’s our passion, our lifestyle, and something we’ve worked hard to build together.

We reworked the entrance to fix drainage issues caused by runoff from both sides of the hill—no more standing water, just a clean, functional driveway to come home to! 👏🏼
