On 11/14/2025, Southern Wholesale Glass dedicated their flagpole to Mark Michael's brother, Steve Michael, who passed away on 8/30/2024. Family, friends, and employees joined in the dedication including Ryan Walker (plant manager), who gave the welcoming speech, Frank Lamb (HR manager) who gave the prayer of dedication, Sumter County Sheriff Eric Bryant who gave a blessing over the assembly, and Mark Michael spoke about his brother and the bond they shared in the love for glass and the community they serve.
