America's SBDC Iowa Our 15 business assistance centers provide customized, confidential, no-fee business advice to entrepreneurs & small businesses with up to 500 employees.

This program is supported by federal funding. https://iowasbdc.org/federal-funding-disclosure/ Since 1981, America's SBDC Iowa has been counseling and training business people and entrepreneurs. We provide no-fee, confidential, customized business advice in all 99 Iowa counties, and are the only nationally-accredited business assistance organization in Iowa. Individual counseling and training work

shops cover a variety of business topics including, but not limited to, new business guidance, business plan development, loan proposal assistance, financing options, market research services, export assistance, cash flow projections, accounting, QuickBooks, human resource management, business growth and succession strategies, strategic planning, business continuity planning and disaster counseling. We also provide free market research and connect clients to subject matter experts in a variety of fields. Entrepreneurs and existing businesses that work with America's SBDC Iowa grow significantly faster than the average Iowa business. The state center, located at Iowa State University, subcontracts with other universities, community colleges, and other organizations to provide a network of 15 regional business assistance centers throughout Iowa. Kimbar™ was founded in 2019 by Kim Meyer, inspired by the desire to improve her overall health and well-being. Kim was committed to choosing and eating healthy foods. Seeking a snack that would meet her needs, she was frustrated by products containing fillers, preservatives, and inferior ingredients. Being a lifelong “foodie”, she focused on making her own, tailor made, snack. With this inspiration and a lot of perspiration, her basic “clean” energy bar took shape. Sharing her new snack with friends, the demand for her bars grew and the Kimbar™ business was born.
