Bweela Steptoe, daughter of author John Steptoe, holds a copy of his book, Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters: An African Tale. Ms. Steptoe was the model for the illustrations of the two sisters in the book.

Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters was selected by The New York Public Library as one of the best 100 books written for children.

The musical version of this classic story will be on the Lincoln Community Playhouse stage, March 4-6 and 11-13. For tickets - lincolnplayhouse.com
