So… if you could choose a legacy console. The one that would be the end all, be all… Most would say API or Neve. Me, nah. Quad Eight 2082!! Check out the lists of studios that were rolling with Q8’s in the 70s. These desks cut more hits than you realize.

Just making sense of 2026… So, for those who may not know. I’ve been quiet lately and truthfully for the past 4-5 years. Medically I’m falling apart. At 44 RA (Rheumatoid arthritis) along with POTS and EDS (Ehlers Danlos syndrome) has wrecked my hands, legs and anything else worth mentioning, pretty much taking all musical abilities for organ and piano. Guess I’ll take up drums again (Sarcasm). For someone who transported his own B3/Leslie and Rhodes, now having issues lifting a 45lb. bag of dog food, or needing 45 mins to an hr of rest after said dog food. Some days I’m golden and can power through, other days it’s like having the flu. I’m discovering these dysautonomia/autoimmune symptoms are possibly a new silent epidemic among many as new discoveries and developments are unfolding. It’s looking like music (Recording, producing, mastering, etc) may become my sole source of income, and that’s a frightening proposition in the new AI realm. I’m looking at all of my options at the moment. You guys out there living with these ailments have my full understanding. Thank you PJ for helping me connect the dots, as your guidance and experience helped me figure out where to start. As always, lads and ladies have a great week!! Hope all is well for everyone.

A Hammond tone wheel generator. 1930s technology that’s responsible for your favorite organ tones. Basically a mechanical sine wave generator with 96 wheels spinning. This is why tone wheel Hammonds are fairly indestructible. Enjoy!

Hi all! I started following all of my followers… that sounds cringe when said out loud… but you guys found me first and I appreciate it!! Sorry I’ve missed out your stories.

So September 5th I was declared healed by the drs and my wound care nurses. This has been an ordeal over the past 4 months. I have fully recovered as far as walking and daily mobility thankfully. Now, the rest of the story… apparently I’ve been suffering from co-id related POTS and possibly EDS as well over the last few years. I’m still in testing to pinpoint all of my medical issues. This condition totally zaps all of my will and stamina to do pretty much anything that requires energy or motion. So what I thought was rheumatoid arthritis all these years robbing me of my dexterity to play my keys may be something completely different. Still figuring that out. So, I’m back working to complete my new studio space with all of these afflictions affecting my progress.

One day at a time is the forward mantra these days. At this time I have elected to shift my focus toward a personal studio and mixing suite for others projects. I will still record and produce smaller projects in-house or go down the road to Studio in the Country for larger formats. I swing back and forth on deciding whether this is even worth the effort anymore. I know that sounds defeatist but it’s hard to see the finish line at the moment. At this pace I’ll be late for my own funeral… hehe.

Well… what a month May was… I have been quiet since entering the hospital on May 5th with sepsis/cellulitis related to my left foot injury. Stayed 16 days or more recovering after they removed all of the dead tissue. Turns out I managed to live with sepsis about 7-10 days before going to the emergency room. I’m home and still have both feet thankfully, although my new nickname will now be “Sharky” as I’m forever left with scars that appear as if I was bitten by a shark. They’re a badge of honor at this point and a humbling reminder of how close I came to losing everything (Mobility). Still have another 3 months of wound care until that huge gash heals up and I can walk again. Currently, all projects are delayed or cancelled for the foreseeable future. That hasn’t stopped my creativity from constant bed rest. I acquired a Korg SV1/73 for its small size and a Yamaha PSR36 for 80s fun. Not being able to sit behind my B3, Rhodes, or Wurli at the moment is depressing. However, the SV1 electric pianos are sufficient and make for good practice. I was going to buy a Nord 61/73 instead, but the used resale pricing is insane on those. Anyway, I am working on a few projects myself to pass the time. Hope as is well for my musical friends out there!! Take care all!
