Meet Kait, our Administrative Coordinator, and one of the smiling faces you’ll find at Brooks!

Originally from India and raised in Oregon, Kait has always felt at home in hospitality. After graduating from Western Oregon University with a degree in Criminal Justice and a focus on Psychology, curiosity led her to w**e and eventually to Brooks.

Here, she’s been diving into farming, purposeful w**emaking, and the many hands (and plenty of heart) that go into every bottle. Outside of Brooks, there’s a good chance Kait has a coffee in hand or is catching the newest movie at the theater. You’ll know she’s there by her laugh. 😉

And her perfect pour? 2023 Erratic Oaks Riesling, with vibrant acidity made for memorable moments.

What is Claire doing to those grapes? 🍇

During harvest, you might spot our w**emaker, Claire, practicing pigeage, a traditional French w**emaking technique also known as “punching down.”

But there’s more to it than simply pushing the cap back into the fermenting w**e. As she works, Claire is checking the temperature of the fermentation and gently moving the grapes around to help break up any cooler pockets within the bin. This keeps the fermentation temperature more even throughout.

It may look like a simple motion, but there’s a lot happening beneath the surface. That’s harvest: hands-on, attentive, and full of small decisions that shape what eventually ends up in your glass of Brooks. 🍷

This year’s crew has roots stretching from Colorado, New York, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania all the way to New Zealand.

With our Pinot Noir officially in and Riesling making its way into the cellar this week, you’ll find them alongside the Brooks w**emaking team, getting hands-on and helping bring the 2026 vintage to life.

October at Brooks has a little bit of everything. 🍷🎃

Get ready for ’50s Night Bingo, our Fall Member Mixer, and the release of our Sparkling Riesling.

Then things take a spooky turn! The week leading up to Halloween will be packed with fun, from spooky crafts with Soul Seeds and live pumpkin carving with Joey Edwards to a mystery dinner and more surprises along the way, including Black Cat Day, with a portion of sales donated to a local animal shelter, and Witch Night. 🐈‍⬛🖤

And on Halloween Day, we’re ending the month with a proper costume party. Come dressed as your favorite ghost, ghoul, grape, or whatever else you can dream up for a chance to win a Brooks gift card!
