Today is International Pinot Noir Day which marks a special occasion as we celebrate the grape that has been part of the Dukes Family Vineyards story for more than two decades! While the Dukes’ journey and love for Pinot Noir were first sparked by French Burgundies, they soon found how special and unique Oregon was for this classic grape variety. It has been more than 20 years since the Dukes began their Oregon wine journey, and they cannot believe how much there is to celebrate.

Whether you enjoy our classic-style Alyssa Pinot Noir made from our estate fruit located at the bottom of the property, favor our more robust Charlotte Pinot Noir from our higher volcanic soils, or can’t get enough of our special reserve blends, we hope you will join us in raising a glass to Pinot Noir! This renowned heartbreaker grape is truly a special grape that has more than earned a special toast.

Cheers, Pinot Noir, from vine to bottle, you are truly a magnificent grape, and we look forward to yet another bountiful harvest with you!

Exciting news came this past weekend, with veraison beginning in our lower property blocks. This exciting color change beginning in our clusters, indicates that the grape is going to stop concentrating on growing in size and instead direct all its efforts on ripening the fruit for harvest.

As with any plant, veraison does not occur in all of our plants at the exact same time. This early color change is happening in our grapes that are on the lower part of our property that get a little more direct sunlight and are typically used in our Alyssa estate Pinot Noir.

Interested in seeing our green berries turn color? Visit us for a tasting where you can peek at the vines and their fruit while tasting our estate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.

Walk-ins are welcome, or reservations can be made on our website through Tock or by emailing [email protected].

July may be coming to a close soon, but for the vineyard, that means we are getting closer to Harvest! July has brought many fun things, but one of the most exciting pieces of news we get to share is that fruit set has officially happened here at Dukes Family Vineyards.

Fruit set is an exciting time in the vineyard, as it is when our flowers turn into berries after being properly pollinated. It is also an important milestone, as the number of berries we spy will help us estimate our crop yield for the coming 2026 Harvest.

Curious to see these little berries and get a sneak peek into the coming harvest? Visit us for a tasting where you can peek at the vines and their fruit while tasting our estate Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.

Walk-ins are welcome, or reservations can be made on our website through Tock or by emailing [email protected].

July is a great time to slow down and take a moment to soak up the beauty and ambience of summer in Oregon. At Dukes, this looks like gathering with our friends and enjoying an evening centered around delicious food, some of our favorite library wines, and animated conversations.

Saturday, July 11th, we hosted an intimate Beef Bourguignon dinner. This night centered around celebrating yet another gorgeous Oregon summer with our close friends while enjoying an impeccably cooked Beef Bourguignon dinner made by Chef Pat Dukes. The evening was truly delightful and made even more unique by our introduction of the “Table’s Choice Wine.” We enjoy all of our library wines, but we know some of our friends have their favorites. With this in mind, we welcomed each table to choose one special bottle from our library list to round out their wine selection for the evening!

Don’t miss out on our last Summer Dinner Series. Reserve your ticket for our September 12th Crab Boil soon on our website!

There is no better way to kick off the summer than with a delicious wine dinner shared with friends. On the evening of June 13th, 2026, we gathered with wonderful people to enjoy some amazing food and special wine.

This year, we decided to have our Paella dinner be the first in our Summer Dinner Series! All those who chose to spend the evening with us enjoyed a three-course paired menu curated by Chef Pat Dukes. The festivities did not end there, as we popped the cork on some of our library large format wines. As a special “Thank You” for all who chose to spend their summer evening with us, we offered an extra special discount on our wines!

Don’t miss out on our Summer Dinner Series. Reserve your ticket for our next dinner, Beef Bourguignon, on July 11th! Buy your tickets on our website: DukesFamilyVineyards.com.

Last week, we got the opportunity to step away from the vineyard and attend the 8th Annual Women In Wine conference hosted at The Allison Inn & Spa. This amazing day was filled with great conversations, deep introspection, and bounds of inspiration.

While this day was packed full of educational opportunities and challenged us to reflect and then think beyond, we are so grateful we got to be a part of it. We left knowing more women who work in the Oregon wine Industry, which words we should use and which we should lose, as well as a hopeful mind map of what Oregon Wine could be in the future.

Thank you again to for creating such an empowering event and for being such a gracious host.

In May, we celebrated the journey to bottling our 20th vintage! With June, we are reveling in the coming future harvest with the start of flowering!

Flowering is an important time for the vine, as it marks the transition from vegetative growth to now focusing on self-pollination. This transition period for the vine is fast and only lasts for about one to two weeks!

Want to come see the flowering in person? Join us anytime this weekend to enjoy a tasting while amongst the flowing vines. Wanting a little more than a cheese board with your tasting, well, you’re in luck, as this Sunday marks our Pizza Pop-Up event for June. Don’t miss out and make your reservation today on our website through Tock or by emailing [email protected].

Last week, we wrapped up May with bottling our 2024 vintage, our 20th vintage! It is unbelievable that our journey began over two decades ago, with our first bottling in 2005.

While our love for Oregon Pinot Noir is the same, things look a little different from 2005. Now with a rented mobile bottling truck (Thank you, Casteel Custom Bottling!), we handle everything on-property, unlike in 2005, when we were located out of space made special for small producers, .

However, no matter the location or vintage, it is because of the support and dedication of all those who volunteer and come to help out that we are able to continue making special wines to share! So with that, thank you to our Winemaker, Kelly Kidneigh, Kelly’s winemaking team, and all those who were a part of “Camp Dukes 2026!”
