We will be doing some emergency maintenance tonight starting at midnight (late Thursday night into Friday). Customers are reporting sluggish service. There will be periodic outages across the city as we address the problem.

Reminder that we are doing scheduled maintenance overnight Sunday/Monday that affects many customers East of Anacopper Mine Rd. If your service is not working after the maintenance is over, restarting your equipment should get you back online.

Also also, it's best not to use Facebook to reach out for immediate tech support. If you have an immediate tech support need, please either check the fiber webpage to see if there is an outage or call 360-588-8300 option 2 for help. We do not monitor this page if/when we are busy addressing an urgent system-wide problem. However we do enjoy interacting with our community and answering non emergent question. :-)

Hello Anacortes! This is a reminder that at Midnight overnight Sunday into Monday the 8th we have a scheduled maintenance window. Anacortes operates its own municipal fiber optic network to provide affordable high-speed internet access for all residents and businesses.

Our fiber internet service is currently experiencing intermittent issues for some customers. Staff are working closely with our network equipment supplier to restore stable service as quickly as possible.

If you are experiencing issues, please try restarting your fiber equipment:

• Unplug power from your modem (if you have one) and your router or mesh system
• Wait about 10 seconds
• Plug the modem and router/mesh system back in

Service should return within approximately 2–5 minutes.

If service has not returned after the posted time frame, please check the fiber landing page for status updates. If you still do not have service, call 360-588-8300 and select option 2.

In some areas of Anacortes, the City’s Fiber Internet Service is experiencing intermittent issues.

Staff are working closely with our network equipment supplier to troubleshoot and resolve things. But, the equipment is complex and finding a root cause of what’s happening is incredibly challenging.

For example, the last two nights we reset some equipment which caused momentarily stopped service in some areas, cleared the problem we had been experiencing, and appears to have caused yet a different problem. Hopeful, but frustrating!

We will be ordering and deploying a new piece of equipment, but do not yet have an ETA on when that equipment will be delivered and ready for installation.

If you experience an issue with your service, we suggest two things:

• First, check out the following area of the City’s website for our current status and some steps you can take in your home or business: https://www.anacorteswa.gov/2076/Scheduled-Maintenance

• Second, you can call our help desk at 360-588-8300 twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. A technician will assist you.

Once maintenance is complete, your modem and router should automatically reconnect.
If your service has not resumed by 2:00 AM, please follow these steps:
1. Unplug the power cord from your modem and router.
2. Wait a few seconds.
3. Plug them back in.
