Title: Material Handler
Location: Houston, TX 77064
Summary: As a Material Handler you will perform shipping duties as required to support warehouse functions. Duties to include receive, identify, store, distribute, inventory, pick, pack, and ship materials, supplies, components and product in the most efficient manner.
Description: Roles and Responsibilities
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ship or receive material as per work instructions DPM-100.
Place in stock, allocate to sales order and issue work orders.
Pull and stage orders accurately and efficiently for quick turnaround to achieve on-time deliveries.
Pull parts from stock for work orders and kit in-house or route as per work order router.
Pack and unpack to ensure proper part marking, packaging, and specifications are met.
Load and unload boxes, pallets, wooden crates, and raw materials.
Issue parts to service floor as scheduled.
Assist with maintaining inventory records by posting materials received and disbursed, reporting shortages and damages to appropriate personnel.
Actively expedite overdue and missing parts.
Accurately and completely prepare shipping documentation, schedule shipments, and arrange for pickups.
Assists in conducting physical inventories and cycle count to include bin transfers, stock check requests and annual physical stocktake.
Carry out designated tasks as instructed.
Plan and schedule workload according to weekly production schedule highlighting any key areas which may prevent meeting weekly targets.
Demonstrate awareness of and promote company objectives, policies and procedures.
Demonstrate desire and willingness to promote and ensure that 5S principles are adhered to.
Ensure all company policies surrounding, health & safety, quality requirements and housekeeping are met.
Adheres to inspection criteria, policies and procedures without exception.
Take part and contribute in toolbox talks.
Attend daily briefings, actively engaging in positive discussions regarding potential problematic areas.
Record accurate time entry.
Identify and report quality related issues.
Accurately describe events during quality related investigations, aiding in understanding the root cause where required.
Willingly assist Supervisors/Team Leads to eradicate identified or potential areas of non-conformance.
Respond to identified process improvements and implement them willingly.
Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Manager.
Identify technical issues and seek support to rectify them whilst offering solutions where possible.
Strive to assist with maintaining all relevant KPIs in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery and Engagement whilst identifying areas for improvement.
Assist with streamlining and improving overall manufacturing efficiencies and process performances to reduce overall direct labour costs.
Action all tasks assigned to maintain high levels of target achievement as designated by Supervisor or Team Leader.
Cover holidays and absence by working overtime in line with business needs.
Ensure that all procedures/paperwork is completed, kept up to date and signed off by the relevant person.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
EDUCATION: MUST HAVE HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR GED
Three to five years related work experience
Ability to interpret bill of material, work order routers
Warehouse or manufacturing experience
Customer service oriented
Experience with shipping UPS Worldship, FedEx, DHL a plus
Skills, training or special knowledge
Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook).
Forklift experience
ERP knowledge
Familiar with shipping and receiving terminology

Manual Lifting
Employees do not lift anything over 50lbs by themselves. If an object over 50 lbs needs to be moved, they are required to do one of the following:
Use mechanical assistance (ie, forklift, crane, cart, etc.)
As a coworker or coworkers for help depending on the weight and size of the object.
Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
