The Salty Dawg Saloon in Homer, Alaska 💵🍻 This place has been around since 1897 and has quite a history. Before it became a saloon, the building served as Homer’s first post office, a railroad station, grocery store, and even a coal-mining office.

It became the Salty Dawg Saloon in 1957 and is now famous for the thousands of signed dollar bills covering the walls and ceilings. 💵

The tradition started when a fisherman left a dollar for a friend to use when he came back from fishing. What I also thought was really cool is that they collect some of the money from the walls and donate it to local charities. ❤️ Definitely one of the coolest little spots to check out in Homer!
