Fur Rondy Favorites

It’s officially Fur Rondy season! We asked Boardroomies about their favorite activities during this winter festival. The ceremonial start of the Iditarod Race is a main attraction, along with the Firework Extravaganza, the carnival, the snow sculpture competition, blanket toss and curling bonspiel.

Holiday Party Recap

Our favorite party of the year brought together members, families, friends, and colleagues to celebrate a year full of wins. Boardroomie DJ Spencer Lee kept the beats all night and we helped break in his brand-new event photo booth (scroll for some highlights 📸).

Boardroomie Kerry Quade expertly managed the décor, staff, and bar, making the whole night feel effortless. We were joined by Santa himself, had plenty of activities for the kids, enjoyed catering from Asia Gardens, and welcomed around 100 members to celebrate together.

Member Highlight - Penny Gage

Boardroomie Penny Gage and her family spent two months this fall in Luleå, Sweden, as part of her fellowship with the Fulbright Arctic Initiative. Penny is the Chief Policy and Partnerships Officer at Launch Alaska, and while in Sweden she researched the region’s large clean industrial projects. Georgia Blue Gallery - Art Showcase

Boardroomie Spencer Lee’s favorite painting at Denali is Summer Madness. He said it reminds him of the song Summer Madness by Kool and The Gang. The artist, Catherine Doss Senungetuk (1953-2010) was known for vibrant monotypes, watercolors, and public art across Alaska.
