Meet Astro! In honor of national animal shelter and rescue appreciation week, we are highlighting some awesome rescue dogs that have been through our training programs. Before Astro was adopt by Lori he had been in the shelter for 6 months. Big dogs often are overlooked in shelters, and being a Great Dane/Boxer/Pitty mix, Astro is a BIG dog. He had no experience with freedom and simply did not know how to behave. Before Common Sense Dog Training, he would jump up on Lori making her lose her balance and tear her skin with his nails. He also was extremely mouthy when excited, but because of his size and strength his mouthing felt more like biting and it was leaving marks on Lori. After training he is able to follow commands and has turned into a lovable dog and a valued and loved member of the family.
